Terms of Service and FAQs
We greatly appreciate your support for The Heather Trust. By using our services, becoming a member, or making a donation, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms outlined in this section, including our Refund Policy and Gift Aid Policy. Please read these terms carefully before proceeding.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the website. Continued use of our services signifies your acceptance of the updated terms.
Gift Aid is a UK government scheme that allows charities like The Heather Trust to reclaim the basic rate of tax on donations made by UK taxpayers. It increases the value of your donation by 25% at no extra cost to you, the donor, maximising the impact of your contributions.
You can confirm your declaration at the checkout page, and we offer three options:
1. Gift aid only your current membership or donation.
2. Gift aid your current membership or donation, and all future gifts of money that you make to The Heather Trust from the date of your subscription/donation.
3. Gift aid your current membership or donation, and any donations you have made in the past 4 years and all future gifts of money that you make to The Heather Trust from the date of your subscription/donation.
By choosing any of the Gift Aid options during checkout, you are declaring that you are a UK taxpayer and understand that if you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year, it is your responsibility to pay any difference.
Please notify the Trust, if you:
1. Want to cancel this declaration.
2. Change your name or home address (you can also change your details through the customer portal)
3. No longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains.
The Heather Trust will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 you donate. Gift Aid is reclaimed from the tax you pay for the current tax year. Your address is needed to identify you as a current UK taxpayer.
If you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate, and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue & Customs to adjust your tax code.
If you are unsure whether your donations qualify for Gift Aid Tax Relief you can ask your local tax office for advice or check the guidance that is available on the HMRC website.
We always publish a new issue of our annual report before the end of the year. Each issue includes information about notable events from the past year and outlines our plans for the year ahead. Additionally, we ensure the report is filled with interesting and informative articles for you to enjoy.
This year’s issue, along with previous ones, is available to read and download in our Reading Room.
We are committed to supporting the environment in every way possible, which is why printed copies of the annual report are provided on an opt-in basis. If you would prefer a hard copy of the latest report, please contact us at info@heathertrust.co.uk to arrange an order.
The Trust is delighted to be able to offer our members the opportunity to acquire Moorland Fire Fighting Insurance, through Lycetts. This is a special arrangement and the Trust will benefit from a payment that Lycetts make for every new policy taken out.
Members of the Trust will be aware that Lycetts have supported the Trust for many years through their advertisements in the Trust's publications, and we are delighted that this scheme has been set up.
More information can be obtained from Lycetts' website.
